Book Details

The book is about atrocities women face in our society, I have chosen the contentious subject, though everyone speaks and writes about it, it is still an issue which haunts millions in our society and one which is pushed so readily under the carpet. The book is set in rural India.

Book Blurb

Shanti is married in a prominent family but her life will never be the same for a life thrusted on her for honour of the family. She accepts her life but will she let the same fate unfold for her younger sister?

Bhano discovers the horrors of her sister's life. Will she be able bring justice to her sister's life and her sacrifices?

Arti finds herself strangled with choices. Will she risk her life and her family's life to help Bhano get justice or leave her helpless?

The story of set in rural India takes us through unimaginable yet common atrocities which a woman faces in today's society. Will they fail to survive? Will they emerge stronger battling the troubles?

Many of us dream to write & publish but only few of us actually do it. So here's a a quick candid chat with the author.... !!!

1. Share something about you with the Readers.....

Around a month back I had only two important things in my life - my family and my work, based in London, I work for an Indian IT company, have played various roles in my IT world in last 9 years. Earlier this month, I had two more things added to my priority list, my new born and my book.

As a person, being a Leo, always want to be in the center and I am blessed with such great family and friends who allow me to do a justise.

2. Why an Author?

Being an author is something which I had not planned, I always had this thought at back of my mind that I have to do something that 4 generations from now, remembers my name. This being the primary motivation leaves me with very limited choices and options, as how to achieve this goal. We only know those who have left us something, something for the betterment of our society. Either you have surplus money and achieve that goal instantly or you take baby steps towards the same.

3. Why this topic?

Two reasons - All the book I have read recently of Indian authors only on Indian urban life, relationships and romance. I am sure they are doing their best and they are successful as they have a readership, but on the other side, hardly anyone is focusing on the real problem. Secondly, even in Television we talk about a rape survivor for a week and we all forget it, leave it behind and wait for something else, similar to happen. Nothing concrete is being done now...which is the need of the day.

4. What motivated you to draft this book/ Inspiration etc

Real life events which we all see on News or read in papers. Though the story is fiction, but my story is normally a mirror to the society.
